Johnnie Lindsey Awarded Bill Dane Award
Lower Lake, California – On September 21st, Paratransit Services recognized Johnnie Lindsey of Paratransit Services, operators of Lake Transit Authority, as the 2021 Bill Dane Award winner.
The Paratransit Services Board of Directors established the Bill Dane Award in 1995 to recognize the contributions of William R. Dane to Paratransit Services. During his 5 years of employment until retiring at age 85, Bill Dane was recognized as an "Ambassador" of Paratransit Services. He is well remembered by those who worked with and knew him for his exemplary performance, professional demeanor, dedication, and for the songs he sang regularly to his passengers.
Johnnie Lindsey started with Paratransit Services in September of 2011 as a dispatcher, but quickly rose through the ranks to her current Position as Assistant General Manager of Paratransit Services at our site located in Lower Lake, CA. Since her start with Paratransit Services, Johnnie has stood out as someone with excellent leadership qualities and someone who genuinely cares for the people she works with.
Lake Transit General Manager, Gary McFarland, had this to say:
“[Johnnie] is true to who she is and makes no apologies for that, she speaks her mind which is a rare quality. I have been truly blessed to work alongside her and I can think of no one more deserving for such an award.”
Lindsey stood out as the clear choice for this year’s Bill Dane Award due to her tremendous efforts within the company. She continually puts others before herself and truly embodies the spirt of service.
The awards presentation was held at the Paratransit Services Lower Lake, CA site with members of both the Paratransit Services and Lake Transit Authority Board of Directors in attendance. Bill Mahan, Chairman of the Paratransit Services Board, presented the award via Zoom. Johnnie’s boyfriend, Michael and daughter, Johnnie (Little Johnnie) were also present for the awards ceremony.
