Michelle Knight Receives 2023 President’s Merit Award

Truckee, California – On November 1st, 2024, Paratransit Services was honored to award Michelle Knight with the President’s Merit Award for 2023.  

Michelle began her career at Paratransit Services in October of 2022. Right away her impact could be felt, both to our site and to our daily operations. From the start, Michelle was eager to provide quality service to all of our riders, easily creating connections and relationships with our frequent Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride passengers. The level of care she takes with riders, providing extensive directions to people unfamiliar with Truckee, suggesting restaurants and places of interests to people on vacation, and genuinely caring about everyone on board is a shining example of we all should strive to serve on a daily basis.

General Manager, Tony Donohue, had this to say about Michelle:

“After Michelle was promoted to Operations Supervisor she really started to shine. She took the challenge head on and never looked back. When drivers are overwhelmed, Michelle is the first person to offer help with whatever it is they need. Giving drivers extra time on their breaks? No problem, she’ll drop what she is doing and jump in a bus to give the drivers relief. Driver has a schedule conflict on the weekend? Michelle will be up in the office making sure no rider is left behind. She has taken her role as Operations Supervisor and Trainer and excelled much more than she even knows.

Michelle is by far the glue that holds our operations together. Both us here in Truckee, as well as the company as a whole, are beyond lucky to have Michelle a part of the PTS Family. Michelle truly exemplifies what Paratransit Services stands for and strives to be.”

The awards presentation was held at our TART location in Truckee, California. CEO/President of Paratransit Services, David Baker presented Ms. Knight with her award in a celebration held via ZOOM.  Also in attendance were COO/EVP, Christie Scheffer, Director of Safety, Training, and Operations, Bill Kluth, and Executive Assistant, Kristen Walls.
